Total Time 1 hour 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1-2 tbsp Burger Royale seasoning
  • 6 oz bacon, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 jalapeno, diced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 8 oz American cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together the Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, and BBQ sauce. Refrigerate to chill.
  • Cook the diced bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain off excess grease and set aside.
  • Sauté the diced onion and jalapeno in the same skillet until partially caramelized. Set aside.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet and sear on both sides. Sprinkle with Burger Royale Seasoning and cook until fully cooked through.
  • Add the cooked bacon, sautéed onion and jalapeno, sauce mixture, and half of the shredded American cheese to the beef. Mix well.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 9 equal-sized squares.
  • Spoon 3-4 heaping spoonfuls of the beef mixture onto each pastry square. Add a bit of shredded American cheese on top.
  • Fold up the corners of each pastry square and shape them into balls, sealing the filling inside.
  • Place the prepared balls on the baking sheet, seam-side down. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Notes

  • Make sure to seal the pastry tightly to prevent the filling from leaking out.
  • Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet – cook in batches if needed.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or BBQ sauce.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
