There’s a reason why bacon and chicken are such a classic combination. The smoky, salty crunch of bacon elevates the tender, savory flavor of chicken to a whole new level. It’s a pairing that just works, and it evokes a feeling of pure comfort. I’ve always been drawn to recipes that celebrate simple pleasures, and this [chicken and bacon recipes] is a perfect example. The key to achieving perfectly cooked chicken and crispy bacon is to start with good quality ingredients and to pay attention to detail. Don’t be afraid to let the bacon cook low and slow, as this will render the fat and create a wonderfully crispy texture. And when it comes to the chicken, be sure to season it generously with garlic powder and pepper. This will infuse it with flavor and help it to develop a beautiful golden-brown crust. This [chicken and bacon recipes] relies on these simple techniques for maximum flavor.

📖Why My Recipe Works

  • Brine Method- While many cooking websites say that salting, or brining the eggplant, isn't necessary because modern eggplants are less bitter I just don't agree. I find the salt improves both the flavor and texture.
  • Quick and Easy- There are so many delicious ways to make eggplant, but cutting them into slices is perfect for a variety of applications and is much faster than cubes or whole eggplant.

One of my favorite little tricks is to use the bacon fat to cook the chicken. It adds an incredible depth of flavor that you just can’t get any other way. And don’t skimp on the cream! It’s what makes the sauce so rich and decadent. I like to use heavy cream, as it creates a beautifully smooth and velvety texture. But if you’re looking for a lighter option, you can use half-and-half, although the sauce won’t be quite as thick.

🧾Ingredient Notes

  • If you like more heat, increase the amount of gochujang or add sriracha to taste.
  • Soft-boiled eggs are optional but add a creamy texture that complements the spicy noodles.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 packs spicy Korean ramen (Samyang or Shin Ramyun)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 soft-boiled eggs (optional)
  • Green onions & sesame seeds, for garnish

1 Step 1: Cut the bacon up and add it to a skillet. Fry until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate, leaving about 2 tablespoons of the bacon fat in the pan.

2 Step 2: Cut the chicken in half lengthwise. Sprinkle with garlic powder and pepper, then coat in flour.

3 Step 3: Add the chicken to the skillet and cook in the bacon fat until golden brown, 4-5 minutes per side.

4 Step 4: Add the chicken broth, lemon juice, and butter to the pan. Let it reduce by half.

5 Step 5: Stir in the cream and once it bubbles, add the chicken and bacon back into the pan.

6 Step 6: Cook for another 5 minutes or so until the chicken is fully cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
