Hello! I'm Emilia, and Welcome to Easy Recipes List.
Hi there! I'm Emilia Hayes, the home cook, photographer, and storyteller behind Easy Recipes List. I'm so incredibly happy you've found your way to my little corner of the internet, based right here in vibrant, food-loving Portland, Oregon.
This blog is where I share my deep-seated passion for American comfort food, simple seasonal cooking, and the pure joy that comes from making something delicious with your own two hands. Cooking, for me, has always been more than just feeding myself; it's an act of care, a creative expression, and a way to connect with the seasons and the people around me.

My Journey into the Kitchen
I'm not a professionally trained chef! My culinary path has been one of joyful discovery, largely self-taught through countless hours spent poring over cookbooks (I have quite the collection!), endless (and sometimes messy!) kitchen experiments, and attending a few wonderful workshops along the way. I believe that delicious food doesn't need to be complicated or intimidating. I also take food safety seriously and hold an accredited Food Safety Certification – ensuring that the recipes I share are not only tasty but also safe.
What You'll Find Here at Easy Recipes List
My focus is always on approachable, reliable recipes that work for real home kitchens. You can expect to find:
- Comfort Food Classics: Think cozy casseroles, satisfying soups, simple roasts, and those nostalgic dishes that just feel like home.
- Seasonal Inspiration: I adore visiting Portland's farmers' markets, and I love creating recipes that celebrate the best of what each season has to offer.
- Easy-to-Follow Instructions: My goal is to break down recipes into clear, manageable steps so you can cook with confidence.
- Emphasis on Quality: While keeping things simple, I believe in using good quality ingredients – fresh, local, and seasonal whenever possible.
- The Joy of the Process: Beyond just the recipe, I often share little tips, thoughts on ingredients, or the 'why' behind a technique, hoping to share the beauty I find in the process itself.
Beyond the Kitchen
When I'm not testing recipes or writing for the blog, you can usually find me with my camera (food photography is another passion!), tending to my small herb garden, getting lost in a good novel, or exploring the wonderful local food scene here in Portland for new ideas and flavors.
Cooking with Care, Sharing with Joy
That's my personal motto, and it truly sums up why I started Easy Recipes List. My hope is that this blog feels welcoming and inspiring – like you're cooking alongside a friend. Whether you're a seasoned home cook or just starting your culinary adventures, I hope you find recipes here that bring comfort, delight, and a little bit of joy to your kitchen table.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I'm thrilled to share this journey with you!
Warmly,
Emilia Hayes
