Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1-2 tbsp Burger Royale seasoning
  • 6 oz bacon, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 jalapeno, diced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 8 oz American cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, and BBQ sauce. Refrigerate to chill.
  2. Cook the diced bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain off excess grease and set aside.
  3. Sauté the diced onion and jalapeno in the same skillet until partially caramelized. Set aside.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet and sear on both sides. Sprinkle with Burger Royale Seasoning and cook until fully cooked through.
  5. Add the cooked bacon, sautéed onion and jalapeno, sauce mixture, and half of the shredded American cheese to the beef. Mix well.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 9 equal-sized squares.
  8. Spoon 3-4 heaping spoonfuls of the beef mixture onto each pastry square. Add a bit of shredded American cheese on top.
  9. Fold up the corners of each pastry square and shape them into balls, sealing the filling inside.
  10. Place the prepared balls on the baking sheet, seam-side down. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Notes

  • Make sure to seal the pastry tightly to prevent the filling from leaking out.
  • Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet – cook in batches if needed.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or BBQ sauce.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
